DMR Primer
DMR stands for Digital Mobile Radio. Basically, some ham radio folks convinced Motorola to open source their MOTOTRBO standard in an effort to unify the many splinters that was digital modes in VHF and UHF.

When dealing with DMR, it’s important to understand a few concepts with regards to radio programming and repeater operation. Gone are the days of “tune to this frequency to listen to X!” but rather, now you can dynamically call up content (and you can do so on your own personal hotspot!
Talk Group: This is the most analogous to a channel that we can get.
